Abstract:

Objective: This study assesses the effects of SageXtra™: Sage, an extract of Salvia officinalis, on cognitive performance in adolescents (12-14 years old) and young adults (18-25 years old).

Methods and Findings: In a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, participants received either 150 mg or 300 mg of SageXtra™: Sage. Cognitive performance was measured using CogTrack™, which evaluates attention, working memory, and episodic memory. A significant improvement was observed in the Immediate Word Recall task for young adults, indicating better episodic memory. There were no reported side effects.

Results: SageXtra™: Sage enhanced episodic memory in young adults, supporting its cognitive benefits. These results align with findings in older adults and suggest that further long-term studies could be valuable.
